Slik OJK

Understanding SLIK OJK at a Glance

Let’s take a quick look at SLIK OJK. If you are familiar with bank credit, you may already know the term BI Checking. However, the system now uses a new name: SLIK OJK (Sistem Layanan Informasi Keuangan), managed by the Financial Services Authority of Indonesia. So, what exactly is SLIK?

Mengenal SLIK OJK

What Is SLIK?

SLIK is a collection of information related to the credit history of borrowers from banks and other financial institutions. In simple terms, SLIK allows these institutions to review the credit history of potential borrowers. Therefore, the system helps lenders decide whether a borrower deserves credit or not.

Just like the former BI Checking, SLIK can feel intimidating for borrowers. Banks and financial institutions often reject loan applications when a borrower has poor credit records.

SLIK data stays highly accurate because the information comes from continuous data exchange between banks and other financial institutions. The system contains details such as borrower identity, collateral, business owners or management, payment history, total financing, and records of bad debts.

Previously, these institutions exchanged credit data through BIK (Biro Informasi Kredit), which was coordinated by Bank Indonesia. However, the authority has now moved to OJK. Every month, these institutions submit their customer data to BIK, and OJK integrates it into the SLIK database.

Exploring SLIK OJK Through Its Features

According to OJK’s official website, Sikapi, SLIK is an information system managed directly by OJK. It supports supervision and services related to financial information, including delivering iDeb (Informasi Debitur). SLIK also expands the scope of iDeb because it covers banks, finance companies, and non-bank institutions with access to borrower data. In addition, these institutions must report their debtor information to the SID (Sistem Informasi Debitur).

Moreover, financial institutions use SLIK to report collateral data, financing facilities, and other information linked to various types of lenders, LPIP (Lembaga Pengelolaan Informasi Perkreditan), the public, and other relevant parties. With an integrated system, the loan application process becomes easier. As a result, SLIK can also help reduce the number of problematic loans or NPL (Non-Performing Loans).

Members of the public who want to use SLIK services can visit OJK offices, either at the central location or regional branches. You can find a full list of office addresses on the official OJK website, www.ojk.go.id. Furthermore, OJK provides complete information about SLIK on the website free of charge, both for individuals and business entities.
